Dr Bart profile

Bart Van Wassenhove is a Lecturer in the University Scholars Programme (USP) at the National University of Singapore. He received his PhD in Classics from the University of Chicago in 2016 with a dissertation on Moral Admonition and the Emotions in Seneca’s Philosophical Works.

In the USP, Dr. Van Wassenhove teaches in the domains of Writing and Critical Thinking and Humanities and Social Sciences. He is the editor of Folio, the USP's undergraduate journal.

Dr. Van Wassenhove offers the following modules:

Dr Van Wassenhove's research interests include Hellenistic and Roman philosophy (particularly Stoicism), ancient rhetoric and historiography, and the history of the emotions.
