"The SPAN Get-Together is an opportunity for alumni to relive the USP camaraderie, catch up with old friends, and network."
- USP Deputy Director A/P Albert Teo

The annual Scholars Programme Alumni Network (SPAN) Get-Together organised by the University Scholars Programme (USP) was held at Marriott Singapore on Friday 10 February, in conjunction with the Lunar New Year celebration. Set up to be a cozy affair, the event saw about 80 USP alumni, students, faculty and staff come together for an evening of memories and great company.

The evening began with updates from USP Director A/P Kang Hway Chuan. Thereafter, followed by sharing from respective sections on the various programmes in USP, and how the alumni can stay connected and contribute to the programme. USP alum Alexius Yeo (Geography + USP, Class of 2010), an urban farmer, shared how the idea of building a farm at USP was sparked through Conversations@8 sessions and regular interactions with USP staff. In addition, three student mentees from USP Mentorship Programme took the opportunity to thank their mentors and urge fellow alumni to contribute as a USP Mentor to guide their juniors.

Overall, it was a great evening of reminiscence and great company.
